lyrics
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
Down there in the temple
That time in the temple
You were going bloody mental
Lots of people heard you say
You’re not me real dad, Joe
You’re not my real dad, no no!
You’re not my real day and I’ve known it all along
You’re nothing but a carpenter
A lowly bloody carpenter
Nothing but a carpenter and I’m the son of God
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
You’ve got people in high-places
And the poor folk sing your praises
But I’ve stared into the faces of many guilty men before
At that wedding down in Cana
People asked you, hey where’s Joe
You said, I don’t care and I don’t know
And you were acting like Billy Big Balls
Buying everybody wine
You got everybody wine
Saying “here you, drink this wine, for I’m the son of God”
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
You’re nothing but a carpenter
A lowly bloody carpenter
Nothing but a carpenter and I’m the son of God
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus
What did you do with Joseph, Jesus

One of my favorite albums ever and I listen to it all the time, every song is beautifully made and I admire the songwriting. Way Up on the Mountain wrenches my heart in the best possible way, the blending and passion of these singers is something genuinely special. feathered_fingernail

unironic beauty and sincerity is something i am deeply uncomfortable with. i switched to parliament 100s after hearing this record. proceed with caution. 7.7/10 P4ked
